Stranger #17: Susie

Spending just over five hours having wet, cold paint applied to your whole body and having to stay still for that whole time isn’t everybody’s idea of a good time, but Susie was willing to do all that for a friend.

The Devonport Apex Regatta has a body painting competition (the only one in Tasmania) and Susie’s friend was keen to compete, so Susie volunteered. After the five and a bit hours of painting, standing still, and feeling the cold wetness everywhere, Susie and fellow competitors spent about 15 minutes on the stage being judged, and then it was time … to wash it all off (after some photos of course).

Susie and her body artist came fifth in the competition, so perhaps the five hours was worth it!
